ESTnetNG tech prize 2019 shortlist revealed

The ESTnetNG tech prize celebrates the best new talent in Welsh technology.

It aims to help young people who have shown outstanding commitment, enthusiasm and interest in the technology field fulfil their talent and ambition.

The competition this year is fierce, and the three shortlisters have produced very different but equally compelling applications of tech.

Cameron Edwards, Dragon Aerospace

Cameron Edwards aims to reduce the cost of hobby rocketry whilst making advancements in the availability of parts.

Chloe Hewitt, Cardiff University

Chloe Hewitt’s proposal is a system where satellite data, radar and business registry information can be used by councils to identify disused buildings.

Elliot Williams, Cloeg Y Cymoedd

Elliot William’s entry is CAID – a small robotic assistant and companion featuring facial recognition, object detection and artificial intelligence.
