Debra Williams is one of Britain’s leading businesswomen with a proven track record and an instinctive talent for generating growth and identifying new business opportunities.
Debra started her career as an underwriter at Lombard North Central, before moving on to the Britannia Building Society and the data company NCR working internationally. Debra was Welsh Woman of the Year for Innovation in 2006, and was recognised as one of the UK’s top 200 business women by the Queen in February 2007, award Life Time Achievement Award in 2015 and become a honorary Doctor at Swansea University in 2015.
During her career, Debra has held a number of senior roles and has worked at a management level at some the UK’s most well-known businesses including Confused.com, Admiral, Tesco Bank, NCR. During her time as Managing Director of Confused.com, Debra built the business into one of the UK’s leading aggregator sites attracting 65% of the UK on-line car insurance market and profits of £36m.
Debra lives in South Wales and does public speaking engagements, writes for newspapers and consults with companies both in the UK, Europe and the US. She sits on the Board of The Alacrity Foundation, Swansea University and has recently been appointed by Welsh Government as Chair of Careers Wales.
