The University launched Cardiff School of Technologies in 2018 and academics continue to work closely with technology companies and industry bodies to develop a portfolio of industry focused degree programmes. The £1.3bn Cardiff Capital Region City Deal signals a region that is ‘open for business’ and to develop and promote the way in which business will be delivered. Its mantra is good growth; the CCR wants to drive the kind of enterprise development that is sustainable, inclusive and meaningful to the 1.5m people who live in the region. Cardiff Capital Region intends for current and future generations to see a bright future in the region and aims to be to build greater self-reliance and true sustainability and resilience.
The National Digital Exploitation Centre (NDEC), is a co-funded and co-developed Tech Valleys project between Digital Security leaders, Thales, and the Welsh Government. NDEC will offer training in digital practices, cyber security and research, working with blue chip organisations and local stakeholders. The centre works with talented staff who train local businesses and people in digital skills and will become a hub of technological advancement.
